posted on 18th June, 2008.

The Federal Government has embarked on plans to bail out stranded Nigerians in Libya who are due to be deported.

This was revealed by the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ojo Maduekwe at a media chat.

Ojo informed his audience that the Federal Government is serious about its concern for the welfare of Nigerian Citizens who constitute the basis of our national greatness.

Reacting to a question from the media, Ojo said that “Nigerian deserves far more dignity than we get from the British Airways” and this mad his office to invite the British High Commissioner on the undignified treatment Nigerians receive from the British Airways. According to him, the British High Commissioner has since apologized on their behalf.

While relating the commitment of this administration to the welfare of Nigerian citizens wherever they are, Ojo said “we will not abandon our people even if they have committed a crime however, we ask our citizens to be law abiding”.
