Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, (CFR)

Chief Ojo Maduekwe, (CFR) Born 6th May 1945 in Ohafia, Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia  State. He is married with children.

 EDUCATION

 He attended University of Nigeria, Nsuka (UNN) where he obtained his LL.B (Hon) in 1972 and  proceeded to Nigeria Law School where he was awarded Barrister at Law in 1973.

 
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • After Law School he went into private legal practice as a senior partner in Maduekwe & Co and went into politics later.
  • Member of the National Assembly (Second Republic 1983)
  • Member of the Constitutional Assembly (1988-1989)
  • Special Adviser to Chairman Social Democratic Party (SDP)  (1990-1993)
  • Special Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (1993-1995)
  • Member/Technical Adviser Vision 2010, Member National Constitutional conference (1994-1995)
  • Member National Boundaries, Adjustment Commission (1997)
  • Elected Senator Federal Republic of Nigeria (1998)
  • Appointed  Federal Minister of Culture and Tourism  (1999-2000)
  • Appointed Federal Minister of Transport (2000-2003)
  • Legal and Constitutional Adviser to the President (2003-2005)
  • He was the National Secretary of the People Democratic Party (PDP) (2005-2007)
