Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2007); Born 30th April, 1948 in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. He is married with children.
EDUCATION:
He attended Ahmedu Bello University (ABU) from 1969-1973 where he obtained his first Degree in Bachelor of Science (Biological Sciences) and also a certificate in Script writing, TV Presentation and Production Techniques, in 1975 from BBC London.
WORK EXPERIENCE - He joined Benue Plateau Television (Now NTA Jos as a Producer/News Caster as one of the pioneers staff and was subsequently promoted to the rank of a senior Editor in 1976.
- He also worked at Daily Times of Nigeria Limited in 1977 and Plateau Publishing Corporation in (1976-1980).
- Between 1981- 1986 he was appointed as a Permanent Commissioner, Federal Civil Service Commission and re-appointed for the second term in (1986-1991).
- In 1999, he was appointed as Ambassador and accredited as High Commissioner to the Republic of Namibia until 2003.
- He was appointed member of the Board of Directors of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) 2005 till the time he became Minister of State.
ADHOC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Other duties he performed from 1977 include Representative of NTA Jos, sub committee in preparation for FESTAC and Secretary of the Government appointed Plateau State Sport Council 1977.
- Member of the Government appointed Plateau State Planning Committee in National Sport Festival in 1979.
- Member Nigeria Guild of Editors and Nigeria Union of Journalist 1979-1980.
- Chairman Special Committee Federal Civil Commission 1984. Member, Board of Advisors International Association of Students in Economic and Management (AIESEC) 1990-1992.
- Honourary Member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps Plateau State Command, and Patron, Business Improvement Group (BIG), Member Elders for Reconciliation and National Unity (Northern State) 1993.
- Member, State Government appointed Plateau Elders and Unity Forum 1994. Member, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria and member National Contact and Mobilization Committee of United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) in 1997.
POLITICAL CAREER & ACHIEVEMENT:
- He won the primaries of NRC in 1991
- Emerged as NRC Candidate with 3rd highest votes in the country in 1991,
- Appointed member of a six-man National Disciplinary Committee of NRC 1992
- Appointed the Executive Secretary of the National Republic Electoral Agency (RECA) 1992
